Beautiful Player

Review: Beautiful Player (Beautiful Bastard #3) by: Christina Lauren

In the third book in the Beautiful Bastard series, an agreement between a venture capitalist and a bookish woman quickly becomes a very NSFW version of My Fair Lady.

When Hanna “Ziggy” Bergstrom moves to New York City for graduate school, Will Sumner thinks his responsibilities to his best friend’s nerdy little sister will be limited to the occasional dinner and check-in. Little does he know that Ziggy is ready to break out of her bookworm academic shell and move more into bombshell territory. Of course she figures the gorgeous womanizing venture capitalist Will is the best person to help mentor her in this new field of study: dating.

Will takes on the challenge with more than a healthy dose of skepticism and humor, but soon finds that Ziggy just needed a tiny push, not a world of change, to reveal a woman every man seems to notice. Soon “Ziggy” is gone and the unfiltered, innocently seductive Hanna Bergstrom is hijacking his dreams, his moods, and even his orderly no-strings-attached dating life—beginning the night his mentoring activities move between the sheets.

Manda's 5 Star Review:

Beautiful Player is the story of Hanna “Ziggy” Bergstrom the beautiful and brilliant grad student, who is all business and no fun. Ziggy is a bookworm, workaholic who has become so wrapped up in her work that a social life isn't even on her radar. After a lecture from her big brother about being too involved with work he encourages her to call his long time friend Will for someone to hang out with.

After a call from an old friend Will Sumner agrees to meet up with his friends baby sister to help her get out for a dinner here or there or a call to check in. He barely remembers the nerdy little girl the family has always called Ziggy. He can't even remember her given name. After meeting up for an early morning run the pair strike up a friendship and find themselves meeting up daily. When Hannah asks Will to be her dating coach and teacher her how to have fun, he agrees to give her some pointers. The more time Will spends with Hannah the more he begins to doubt his own no strings attached lifestyle. The pair never seem to be on the same page and find it easy to share anything with each other except for the one thing that matters most.

I absolutely love the Beautiful Bastard series. Each one keeps getting better and better and this book does not disappoint. The playful and witty banter between Will and Hannah will have you laughing out loud. By far the funniest book in the series, I found myself laughing to the point of tears. I think everyone has a version of Hannah in their lives. That person who has no filter and just says whatever they are thinking, if not then you are probably that friend. Christina Lauren capture that perfectly with Hannah. Max was previously my favorite but Will has taken over as my favorite. What terrific writing and a truly awesome and funny series

These co-authors make a terrific team and have created something wonderful with this series. I cannot wait for the next book and will miss these characters when the series ends. I hope these ladies continue to create these fun and witty stories and characters. You definitely have a talent for this and I am a huge fan. This series is on my recommend list and I hope everyone gets as much laughter out of it as I did.
