Finding Cinderella

This novella is a companion novel to the Hopeless series, but can be read as a standalone.

A chance encounter in the dark leads eighteen-year-old Daniel and the girl who stumbles across him to profess their love for each other. But this love comes with conditions: they agree it will only last one hour and it will only be make-believe.

When their hour is up and the girl rushes off like Cinderella, Daniel tries to convince himself that what happened between them only seemed perfect because they were pretending it was perfect. Moments like that with girls like her don’t happen outside of fairytales.

One year and one bad relationship later, his disbelief in insta-love is stripped away the day he meets Six: a girl with a strange name and an even stranger personality. Daniel soon realizes the way he pretended to feel about Cinderella and the way he really feels about Six may not be so different after all. Especially when the two loves of his life end up being one in the same.

Unfortunately for Daniel, finding Cinderella doesn’t guarantee their happily ever after…it only further threatens it.

Manda's 5 Star Review:

A mistake in his school schedule leaves Daniel with a free period that he uses for napping in a maintenance closet. The one bright spot in his day to get some peace and quiet until a mystery girl stumbles into his sanctuary. Crying and hating everyone Daniel tries to comfort the mystery girl and ends up in an unreal make-out session for the remainder of the period. For a week after Daniel wonders about his mystery make-out with the girl he dubs Cinderella until she returns a week later to tell him she wont be coming back after that day. The pair decide to spend that last time together pretending they are in love and end up having a steamy encounter in the dark. Agreeing to stay anonymous they part ways never knowing who the other was.

A year later Daniel finds himself unhappy in his relationship and decides there is better out there for him. He heads out to find his best friends Holder and Sky to tell them he has finally ended his on again off again relationship. When he arrives he meets Six, Sky’s best friend who has been studying abroad for the past year. Instantly intrigued by her and even more so when Holder deems her off limits, Daniel decides to ask her out. The pair begin seeing one another in secret and discover they have a connection and share a past.

I loved Daniel and Six from the previous books and was so excited they were getting their own story. The characters are just as wonderful as they were in the previous books. I love that these characters we able to easily step out of the “sidekick” roll and completely capture you in this story. A beautifully written story about how two people who hate everyone can find something special in each other. This book will not disappoint you. Would love to have more of Daniel and Six!! Definitely recommend this story!!
