Before We Fall, Until We Burn

Review: Before We Fall (Beautifully Broken #3) by Courtney Cole

Sometimes, one dark moment is all it takes to turn your world black...

For 24-year old Dominic Kink aide, that moment took place on the night of his high school graduation. One dark incident changed him forever. He's a hardened actor now, famous in the eyes of the world, but tortured in his own. He doesn't care about much of anything, except for losing himself in the roles that he plays.

23-year old Jacey Vincent doesn't realize how much her father's indifference has affected her. She is proof that sometimes it isn't one specific moment that wrecks a person, but rather it's an absence of moments. She's like a bird with a broken wing-strong yet fragile, as she tries to float through life, finding acceptance in the arms of random guys, one after the other... to fill the void that her father left in her.

Until she meets Dominic.

After jaded Dominic and strong-willed Jacey are thrown together, his secret and her issues create a dark and damaged energy that will soon turn their attraction to each other into an explosive storm.

Even though when the clouds have cleared and the dust has settled, both of them are almost obliterated... they've learned a priceless lesson.

Sometimes, before we fall... we fly

Manda's 4 Star Review

Dominic Kinkaide is broken. After a tragic incident following his high school graduation, Dominic shut down. Now at 24 he is famous and jaded and doesn't care. He keeps everyone at a distance and has acquired very specific tastes. That's how he functions and goes through his daily life. That is until he meets Jacey Vincent.

Jacey has her own demons but after she meets Dominic Kinkaide and is thrown into a situation with him she can't escape, she had no choice but to get to know him. She knows he is living in the past and it is keeping him from having a future, but helping him face a painful past forces her to face her own demons. As the pair grow closer they have to work on their issues without destroying each other.

I cannot say enough about this series. Book one was one of the most powerful and beautiful stories I have read and they just keep getting more and more powerful. Courtney Cole is an amazing writer and She has a fan for life with me. She has a way of writing the most beautifully, terrible characters. Each story is about deeply troubled characters who have lived through terrible events that leave them jaded and in some cases just awful people. The beautiful thing about these books is that each character is given a chance at redemption and it just makes for an amazing story. This is another one I couldn't put down. These stories stay with you and you will love them. The entire series is a must read! Can't say enough about them and about how amazing Courtney Cole is!

Until We Burn (Beautifully Broken #2.5)

Dominic Kinkaide does bad, bad things.

As a 24-year old actor with the world on a string, not many women tell Dominic no. In a life where no doesn’t exist, he stretches the boundaries between what is right, what is wrong and what is downright depraved. Dark and damaged, Dom wants no commitments.

He wants no attachments.

He only wants to disappear into the taboo, into a place where he feels something.

Anything.

But when the aching need to disappear into the darkness is the only thing he has left, Dominic flounders. In a world that is hollow and sexual, without a guiding light or a reason to breathe, Dominic is lost and broken. He knows he’ll never be fixed. So he makes a decision.

If he’s going to hell, he might as well make it worth it.

UNTIL WE BURN is a novella (book 2.5 in the Beautifully Broken series) intended to introduce Dominic Kinkaide, to enhance the reading experience of BEFORE WE FALL (Book 3). Please note that because Dom's lifestyle is wild, this novella contains graphic content and adult material.

Manda's 4 Star Review:

Until We Burn is a novella meant to introduce us to The Beautifully Broken Series newest bad boy and what an introduction it is! Dominic Kinkaide is a bad boy, who always gets what he wants, but he is also broken and living with a past that keeps him that way.

I love this series and am so excited for Dominic s story. This little look into the story definitely has me excited to read Before We Fall. I am so curious to know what happened to make Dom the way he is. Courtney Cole has a way with writing these wonderfully damaged characters. Pax and Gabriel from the first 2 books were amazing characters, with these amazing stories and I have no doubt Dom will be as well. Really looking forward to Before We fall. This series is a must read!! You will not be disappointed.
