I know about this illness—very well—because I suffer from it. It’s been four years since my diagnosis, and ever since, I’ve been living in a dark hole. Voices constantly invading my thoughts. Hallucinations. All of which force me to question if what I’m experiencing is even reality.

But here I am, still hanging on, still breathing and living through it.

That is, until he stumbled into my life. Logan Reed. I don’t want any part of him. I’ve pushed him away, but he isn’t easily deterred. I’ve told him I’m different, but he doesn’t care. He’s trying to slowly break me down. I’m trying just as hard not to let him. He doesn’t know how truly damaged I am; what will happen when he does?

I know the truth—he’ll never be able to look at me the same way again. Just like everybody else.

Jenna is barely living day to day. Keeping herself locked in her room as much as possible and content to be alone. Only really going out when her friend Charlie forces her. Jenna has been diagnosed with Schizoaffective disorder and struggles with what that mean for her and her family. Jenna knows she will never live the normal life that people her age live. Then she meet the cocky Logan Reed. She is immediately annoyed by his cocky nature , and that feeling only increases when he “saves her life” repeatedly. She can't deny that there is something about him that draws her in and he seems to find something in her as well. This scares her because there is no way this cocky bad-boy will want to stick around when he knows the truth. As the two try to navigate their strange friendship they find something in each other, but the truth will eventually come out and it could completely destroy them both.

Wow! What a beautiful and amazing story. E.L Montes is an amazing author. I have read her books in the past and have really been looking forward to this one. I am completely blow away by how much this story pulled me in. Jenna and Logan are amazing characters and so wonderfully written. The struggles that both characters fight through are so emotional and at times heartbreaking, but you can feel the love and care that the author put into these characters she has created. Then there is Charlie!! Charlie had me cracking up with her smart mouth and her ability to bring up her “hoo-ha” in normal conversation. Again what an amazing story and beautiful characters you can't help but love. (I may have a small crush on Logan) Great job E.L Montes!! Cannot wait to read your next book.
