Nothing Left to Lose, Enjoying the Chase, One Wild Night

Annabelle Spencer’s life is every girl’s dream. She has wonderful parents, great friends, and of course the perfect boyfriend, Jack Roberts. That all changes on her sixteenth birthday when her life comes crashing down around her. Her dream night turns into a nightmare when Jack is murdered right in front of her, and she’s kidnapped by his murderer, Carter Thomas, a big time drug and arms dealer.

After five months of being with Carter, she’s found, but the experience has totally changed her. She’s no longer the happy-go-lucky girl that everyone used to know and love; she’s now cold, hard and suffers from night terrors. It appears that Carter broke not only her body, but her spirit too. A shadow of her former self, her slogan for life is now: ‘If you don’t care about anything, then you have nothing to lose’.

Carter is currently serving time for the murder of Jack, a conviction that Anna helped secure. But his retrial is coming up because some key evidence appears to have been tampered with. Unbeknown to Anna, death threats are being received by her father, the Senator. It appears that Carter is still interested in Anna and will stop at nothing to get her back.

Ashton Taylor is brought in to protect her. He’s a newly qualified SWAT agent, a bright spark, the agency’s new golden boy. He is assigned undercover, posing as her boyfriend. His job is to help her through college and keep her safe until the end of the trial in eight months’ time.

For three years she has been the broken, damaged girl, refusing to feel emotion or pain, but can Ashton help her rebuild her life and finally deal with the grief of losing her childhood sweetheart? Will he be the one to make her see that life is, in fact, worth living and that not all men will hurt her?

All the while, the shadow of the trial looms over the both of them, taunting them, reminding them that it isn’t over yet. After all, Carter Thomas will stop at nothing to be reunited with his ‘Princess’.

Due to heavy subject matter and sexual content, this book is recommended for ages 17+

Manda's 5 Star Review:

What a fantastic book!! From the very start this book grabs your attention and has your mouth hanging open. The storyline is amazing and heart breaking and will keep you interested and excited for whats to come. I found it difficult to put this book down, even when I should have been sleeping.
Annabelle Spencer is an amazing and strong female character, who has been through something unimaginable and lived. Her story will break your heart and leave you in I awe of her strength. Ashton Taylor is a fantastic character and will definitely be on everyone’s favorite BBF list. I am a huge fan of Kirsty Moseley and have read all of her books. They just keep getting better and better. This one is my new favorite. I definitely recommend this book to everyone. It is an amazing and exciting story that you will want to share with others.

My 5 Star Review!!

Anna was perfectly happy with a magnificent boyfriend, who loved her unconditionally from the age of 5, loving parents and a life most would covet, but that didn’t stop her from wanting to go to a club the night of her 16th birthday. That night would undeniably be burned into her memory forever. Anna was forced to watch as Carter Thomas, a leader of a crime syndicate, kill her beloved Jack right in front of her. Anna was then kidnapped, abused sexually, emotionally and mentally, beat on a regular basis and forced to witness more things than any 16 year old should have. Anna was found, but would forever be changed.
Enter Ashton Taylor, a SWAT agent fresh from school with honors like no other agent has received in over 20 years, and is hand picked to protect Anna from Carter and his men. Ashton loves his job more than anything else in the world, and has always wanted to work front line in LA and with this 8-month “baby sitting job”, he could have his dream. He is in it for the love of the job, until he meets Anna for the first time. Posing as Anna’s boyfriend, Ashton becomes her “near” guard and sets them up for a trip that neither of them was expecting to take.

From chapter one, your left feeling emotionally crushed, but at the same time your not wanting to put the book down. I was drawn in from the beginning and I demolished this book!! Anna was utterly shattered to the point where no one could even touch her. She self-harmed and exercised herself to the point of passing out just to stop feeling the heartbreaking loss of loosing Jack. You see her grow emotionally in this book, and you see her become happy again. The way it’s done is completely remarkable. Ashton is amazing!! He is protective, strong, loving, kind, and most of all sexy!! He has just become one of my favorite book boyfriends!
I was told Ashton would give Liam James (The Boy Who Sneaks in my Bedroom Window) a run for his money and I didn’t believe it. I was wrong.
I have followed Kirsty and her books from the beginning, and this book might just be my favorite. This book was written so well that at some points it felt like I was intruding on a private moment not meant to be shared with others!! Kirsty sends Anna and Ashton on a spontaneous, loving, and tragic journey that leaves you thinking about it for days after. I simply loved this book and would recommend it to absolutely anyone and everyone.

Nate Peters is living the playboy life. He has great friends, a great job, no responsibilities, no girlfriend, and he loves it. Nate, being incredibly skilled with a pick-up line, has never failed to get a girl in his life… until one day he meets Rosie York. Rosie is completely uninterested in him. Being unable to stand a dented ego, Nate makes it his mission to win her over. Not used to putting in much effort, Nate is surprisingly enjoying the chase of this off-limits little brunette. Maybe he has finally met his match… But Rosie has a few surprises of her own which will make it remarkably more difficult for him to get close to her.

Mag's 4 Star Review:

Nate Peters is the typical single guy even down to his messy apartment and womanizing ways. Loving his job, his best friend and his family, Nate believed he had everything he ever needed, because he didn’t realize what he was missing. Women fell at his feet and Nate never had to try to win over a woman. He would smile throw some pickup lines at them and they would be his. That is until Rosie York entered his life. Rosie hasn’t always had it easy in the relationship department. After being burned by her last boyfriend, Rosie had no interest involving herself with a player. Ever. But unfortunately for Rosie, once Nate set his eyes on her he wanted her in everyway possible.

I love everything by Kirsty! She captivated me with The Boy Who Sneaks In My Bedroom Window, which is still one of my all time favorite standalone books and she blew me away with Nothing Left To Lose. I was beyond excited to find out Nate was getting his own book, and after reading it I really liked it. Nate was cocky and confident in a good way and was hilariously funny. Rosie was strong and also very funny. At times, she got on my nerves and I found myself wanting to shake some sense into her but it wasn’t enough for me to dislike her. Nate and Rosie’s story is such a beautiful and intense one. I would highly recommend this and Kirsty’s other books!

Manda's 4 Star Review:

Nate Peters is used to getting what he wants, including any girl he wants. He loves his single life and has no intention of changing it. Until the day Rosie York strolls into the room and completely blows him off. Determined to get her attention, Nate uses every trick he has and all his best pick up lines. Rosie knows his type, she knows its all about the chase and has no plans on letting him in. As the two spend more time together they find that they actually like each other, but when the thrill of the chase wears off what is left.

What a fantastic book. I loved Nate and his cheesy pick up lines and loved the strength Rosie showed in ignoring his best efforts. This book was really funny and I found myself laughing out loud a few times. Once I started reading I didn't stop until I finished it. The story line is fantastic and keeps you interested. The bonds and relationships formed in this book are heart warming. I absolutely loved Nothing Left To Lose and was happy to get a look at the life Anna and Ashton have built. This is a wonderful book and I highly recommend it. Kirsty Moseley is an amazing author and I have loved all of her books. Excellent job with this story and I look forward to reading more of her books in the future.
